St Mary at Stoke Church is on the corner of Stoke Street and Belstead Road, IP2 8DA
St Mary at Stoke is the oldest church in the team, a fusing of Medieval and Victorian architecture as the church was extended, giving the appearance of two churches joined together. We keep the church open during the day for people to visit, to pray or to seek peace and quiet in the business of the day.
Historically St Mary’s has enjoyed a strong choral tradition, and new voices in the choir are always welcome. A blend of contemporary and traditional hymns are sung, along side a variety of Eucharistic settings, and supplemented regularly by anthems, especially during festival occasions.
St Mary’s has quiet areas dedicated for prayers for peace, and offers a ministry of healing with prayers and anointing with oil during the Sunday morning worship.
